Also what is the MAP reading as you get up there in the revs. A little bit of vacuum can kill top end power too.
That's the interesting part Rob.

My log shows 6400 rpm when I let out of it.

The MAP was 95-100kpa and cyl airmass was right around 1.0.

I'm also wondering if my stock airbox and Airraid Jr. Is choking it.

How much timing do I need to stop at?

Thanks

Did he have a pickup on the coil wire for RPM or did he input tire size and all that?

Is the dyno reading your computer? Is converter slip throwing it off? The lack of RPM on the dyno would make up about 10% horsepower.

No. The dyno is not reading my computer. It WAS an unlocked run.

I know my tuner liked to see 100 kpa. My last dyno session it was pulling low 90s kpa. He was saying it was choked. Said my air filter looked like it flowed like a tube sock. I changed it and feel like it ran better. Never dyno' it again tho.

Think my truck gained about 5rwhp going from 28 to 30 degrees timing.

I was let down on my last dyno also. Afr 225s, 230/236 .581/.581 cam, tbss intake, 1-3/4" LTs/ 3" exhaust, 2800 vig single/ 60e. Went to 3.73s and 29" tires from 3.42s and ~32" tires. Made 410/410. Not sure if veter was locked or what gear. I was looking for 430+. Still ran good. Put a sad face on some hot rod diesels and a few local gypsy trucks.

I'm looking for well north of that now. If I can ever got this beater pos on the road.

I'm still not sure what to make of it. I ordered me a 4in intake today and I'll see what happens to the VE table and retune it next week.

I'm also wondering if the heads are ported so much that it needs a bigger cam. I've read countless posts where the 6.0 motors with opened up heads want more cam. How much? I dunno.

Hell, I'm about to swap out the top end for some ls3/l76/92 stuff and see what happens but I've see on ls1Tech countless 6.0 motors make north of 400 to the tires.

I think the bigger intake will help. Definitely can't hurt.

Id take what the 6.0 fbody's put down with a grain of salt. They won't have the drive line loss that a truck would. Especially if they are m6's.

Before you get to swapping internals and such, see what it traps. IMO, that is the best indicator of power to the ground. If you don't have an open track, find something that run mid to low 12s and run against it.

I have always been a firm believer that a chassis dyno is a tuning tool. I have seen far too many cars with big dyno #s run like crap, and others with barely 300 RWHP dyno graphs run deep into the 11's.

I agree with seeing what kind of ET and MPH it lays down, as well as seeing what it weighs.

As others have said dont get too discouraged.

Do you have any pics of the head work they did? I would like to see it.
