i'd also like to see some results with a large cam in these 5.3 engines.

i, too, plan on using a large cam and stock longblock. i'm thinking something like 230/236 xfi lobe on a 106+0 lsa. of course using a single plane and carb style tb. i think it would easily make 350whp in a 4400 stall th350 and 342 gears...in a 3000lb car it should run good. we will see.

I'm a ways off from starting; let alone any dyno numbers.
So, you put it in and give ME some numbers! lol

If you're running 4.10's with an M6 conversion on a truck, you're actually geared pretty high. Because of the gearing in a T56, and as heavy as your truck is...you need more along the lines of a 4.88 final drive to get the results of a 4.10. Someone else with personal experience chime in here. I've always been under the impression that you need AT LEAST a 4.56 final drive to get the T56 to act anything BUT a dog.

no, the t-56 is kinda weird. a 4.30 is a good balance and 4.10 is on the high side and 4.56 is a bit low.

the t56 has very low first gear and really low gears in the rear make 1st useless unless you are doing burnouts. but it helps make 6th not lug so bad.but if you get gears that make 1st kinda like the 60e 1st gear overall w/ 410, 6th will only be about 1300-1500 rpms at 75-80 and you will have to downshift just to go up small hills. its hard to get a good balance

and just to clear up, a higher, looser stall will give you lower dyno numbers if thats all your after but it will also give you lower ets which is a good thing.

I'll be running a M12 out of a goat. So the gearing will vary a little. (I think a little steeper gears) Also the vehicle will weigh @2800lbs.
engine is almost done. I'm jumping over now to start a hybrid project thread. Thanks for all the info from everybody.
