Default transmission question on fitment

Will a 98 4L60e fit in my 04, if so will anything need to be changed for it to work right. I have a little over 146,000 hard miles on my stock trans, and it slipped bad today.LOL. It slipped bad once with moderate acceleration from a stop when it shifted to second. Then later, I tried a WOT from about 40mph and it slipped bad again. Normal acceleration seems to be fine. I guess anyday now it is toast. Well, my bro in law has an almost new trans in his 98 that he wrecked shortly after putting it in that I can get for cheap so hopefully it will work in my 04.

The LSx 4L60e's have a perimeter bell housing. Not sure if its removeable or not.

If you can get a bellhousing adaptor it should work. Just make sure the harness plug is the same.
