Default Track results for a fat truck...

Well, first off I feel like a dope because I made my two passess WITHOUT having installed my Black Bear 91+ Octane tune! DOH! That's what I get for being technically challenged. On the other hand, I get to go back to the track to see what difference the tune made since it is installed now. I just have to wait for another 75*F day to go, which could be a while.

So...this is what my truck had done to it when the following passes where made. For whatever reason the 1/4 trap speed wasn't working. Temp was 75*F. Like I said, she's fat and slow.

2004 Chevy Crew Cab Short Bed Z-71 4wd 5.3L LM7 / 4L60E / 3.73 gears

Magnaflow Muffler # 11229 3” SI/SO
AEM Pro Flow Dry Air Filter (oem panel style)
Airaid M.I.T.

Seems like a fair number for a mostly stock truck. I need to run mine one day.

I feel sure that with the tune it will be in the 15.7 range. Hopefully after the headers & Y pipe are installed it'll be in the 15.5 area.

Thanks man. I know it'll never be a speed demon, but it is beginning to produce more smiles when behind the wheel

I still say that you should go run it again even though the weather won't be exactly the same. You may be pleasantly surprised by the results...

I agree.

I was going to try to wait until I could hit the track with the same weather conditions as the last time, but that'll be several months away. Besides, I really don't think I can wait that long.

Now I just have to find the time and the weather has to cooperate, which it hasn't been doing lately.

I went to the track last night and was super surprised at how slow it went lol.

03, z71, 5.3/4l60e, 285/50/20 wheels tires, electric fan, intake, cat back and an EFI tune. I only made 1 pass, but left in 4x4 for fear or burning off the rears. Measly 2.6 60' with a 16.9@83mph. I'm not sure if 4x4 helped or not, but I couldn't believe how terrible the 60' was. It feels like a solid 14.9 second truck on the street. I need to swap my 4l80e in with my 3200 stall converter. That should bring it off the line much harder.

On a good note, I am used to my duramax/allison that is in overdrive before the 1/8th mile.

I never even left 2nd gear last night.

The track hurts a lot of feelings for sure lol. Wallace track calc. shows 15.96 for an 83 mph and a 10.07 in the 1/8th. Not bad at all for such a big truck. My stock 07 RCSB4x4 went only 10.39 on 20's btw. The track is a great measuring tool for mods so now that you've got a baseline just keep track of weather and track conditions. Just stay after it and have fun improving. That's all we're after anyway. Congrats!
