Default My 09 is in the NHRA Div 6 finals

Well the wife is doing great for her first year of racing, she made it onto the team for the NHRA Summit Series Div 6 finals. It has been a cool year with a lot of people that have not seen a diesel truck in the brackets asking about the truck. Have gotten a few people out to the track to run their trucks and have some fun.

Thanks everyone, the track crew asked us to do a turn up on the exhaust. They said we were killing them with diesel fumes, don't really get it as they are usually in a cloud of smoke from the burn outs.

NHRDA rules require a turn up or a stack because the black smoke trips the lights when staging and it will keep turbo or engine parts from blowing directly at the track crew should a failure happen.

Where did you find this rule? We are racing at a NHRA track. We went to the NHRDA Pacific Coast Diesel Nationals at Woodburn Or. and they did not require one.

Well things did not go so well, we got down to the NHRA Div 6 finals in Woodburn Or. and first run of the day Friday broke something in either the transfer case or front differential. The truck launched and then you can hear something break, the truck spun the rears for a hundred feet or so and almost went into the wall. It makes noise in four wheel drive and when switched out pretty much goes away, we were able to make the 6 hour drive home. I am thinking it is the front differential because it will drive when not in 4x4

Sorry you broke and hope its an easy fix. I may have misspoke on the turn up deal. I thought I had read in the past that it was a rule but perhaps its track specific. I know at the races in Ennis,Texas, they were requiring the turn up.

Well it looks like we took out the front differential, the gear oil was gray and sparkly
