Default Finally in the 11s

Barely made it, but it will get better. Ran last friday, DA was 1600ft, just nasty and hot. I really wasnt expecting to hit 11s in this weather. I had a really loose na converter in last year and ran a 12.09 at 110 with a 1.69 60ft. I switched it out to a tight PTC 3200 converter and my 60fts went to ****. 1.90 was all i could get out of it. The truck picked up mph though and it ran a 12.20 at 113 of the foot brake from idle, but I was letting out on the 2-3 shift because of shift flare. I bought a 2 step and set it at 2300, wouldnt build boost, but brought it in quicker and the truck went 12.00 at 114 with a 1.82 60ft. Bumped it up to 2500, and it went 11.98 at 114 with a 1.80 but didnt even make half pound of boost. Im going to set it at 3k and let her build and see if i can get 2-3-4lbs out of it. According to the logs, I was seeing only 10.4 psi all night, I think the weather was bringing it down. This is still letting out on the 2-3 shift, if i dont, it wont shift, just hit the rev limiter, I let out, it shifts , then get back in it.

Time slip went as follows.
60ft- 1.80
330ft- 4.95
8th - 7.66
mph- 91
1/4 11.98
mph 114

Goal is to work on my launch, and get my 60ft back, i think its got 1.6s in it and 11.6s at this power level. 03 4.8 with HT1 cam, 70mm at 12lbs (10.4), 3.90s, on 28" et streets with caltracs.

Nice, there's a lot left in that thing.

Are you tuning the truck yourself? The no shift at 2-3 sounds like a tuning issue to me.

Also, are you running et streets (bias) or et street radials? I see you switched from the big m&h's.

Are you footbraking it or trans brake?

My buddy is tuning it, and he has tried many different things to try and fix the issue, lowering the shift point, extra fluid, force motor, etc. This is built 60e, so going to the 80 should fix it i hope anyways, although ive heard some 80 guys having the issue aswell. My M&Hs wore down, and have not purchased new ones yet, I had the et bias plys laying around 28 x 11.50 on some 16" rims, so I tried them, I really hate how the truck sways with them though, the M&Hs felt way more secure lol, and I cut 1.6s on the M&Hs with the looser converter, the best with the et streets with that converter was a 1.72. Its like a whole different truck now to drive with this converter, but when boost hits, it feels like a 200 shot lol. This is off the foot brake. It only has 2 passes with the 2step, so i need to play with it and learn lol.

Congrats. You may be a lot faster than you think. Below are some runs of mine in hot air and I ran a 11.14 in cold 42 degree air.

DA2590
12.013 ET @114.62 MPH Sixty1.803 D-Radials Eighth 7.722 @ 91.26 MPH
12.171 ET @113.25MPH 1.867 7.835 @ 90.38 MPH
11.913 ET @114.99 MPH 1.795 7.648 @ 91.92 MPH
11.843 ET @114.63 MPH 1.746 7.560 @ 91.73 MPH
11.991 ET @115.30 MPH 1.815 7.721 @ 91.58 MPH

Keep at it, you may have a 10 second run on the way

Thanks pittman, I would like to see 11.5s out of it for what's done. This hot humid air is just nasty. Corrected it was 11.7 at 116.8. So hopefully end of October I can shoot for it. I really think it will only need a couple pounds out of the hole to drop that 60ft.

Hell yea! Congrats! It must feel great! In cooler weather I also think there will be a lot to be gained. That could be playing a meaningful role in your spool times.

I would try 2800. Keep the small jumps and see how the truck reacts. With the tighter converter if you can get it to launch harder this thing will run phenomenally!

Thanks man, appreciate the advice. It is a good feeling, it's no 9 second truck, but it sure seems like the 11 second barrier is harder to bust then people think lol. I hope it picks up in october. If it will run 11-5-6s on this boost, I will be extremely happy with it. I want to get all I can out of it before adding power. Still doesn't have meth, and is on 14 degrees. Usually runs 10.9 psi, but spikes to 12 on shifts.
