Just went back and looked, my previous 2000 RCSS went 10.041 @ 71.29 MPH, stock other than heavy 18" wheels. Was around 4400 lbs, 5.3/60E/3.73s rated 285 HP.

So do you think my truck is where it should be considering the extra weight of being a crew cab & also a 4wd?

Hard to say, it's .4 quicker than the magazine ran with a stock truck. (16.8) I suppose .4 isn't bad for the limited mods. But I thought there should be more ET gain from revised shift points and removing TQ management.

That seems about how it should be for a good running truck.

The only thing close to a baseline that I have is that 2004 Car & Driver article that showed a Silverado Z-71 identical to mine (same gears, engine, trans, and even tire size) that ran a 1/4 time of 16.8 sec.

How much of a difference should I expect from the BB Auto-Cal 91 octane tune?
Really hard for me to say and by no means do I mean any disrespect whatsoever. I seem to recall that I saw new era on the project thread .7 (1/4) just from a tune although it was 2012 5.3 4wd & 6pd. I think it was 15.9 to 15.2 iirc bone stock. I know your tune is probably less aggressive but with the muffler and the intake I would've thought a bit better. Wish I could be more helpful I'm just thinking the tune is a bit off.

Me too really. This is my first time with a tuned vehicle so I really don't know what to expect.

I've had faster vehicles (77 Luv 13.2's & 68 Nova 11.8's), but they were all carbed ie simple, lol!

No disrespect taken at all friend. I really appreciate the help from you and everyone.

I re-read that New Era build thread last night, and he did see a significant drop in E.T. with his tune. Awesome truck too!

BB's website said they're out of pocket this week (by phone), so I guess I'll call them next week.

I had a 05 crew cab 2wd 5.3. I had 4.56s, magnaflow muffler, shortie headers, cai, and superchips tuner. I eventually did more things to it, but in this config it went 14.79 at 93 mph, and dynoed 279 rwhp on 20s. i think it ran 9.4s in the 8th at 74 if i remember. Your heavier. To compare that truck, my bone stock crew max tundra ran 14.6 at 93 lol.

Well, first off I feel like a dope because the time slips I posted in post #12 of this thread I made WITHOUT having installed my Black Bear 91+ Octane tune! DOH! That's what I get for being technically challenged. I thought the tune was installed but come to find out it wasn't and it was completely my fault.

Now I get to go back to the track to see what difference the tune made since it is installed now. I can't wait to see what it'll run now as it feels like a completely different truck with the tune installed! I just have to wait for another 61*F day to go, which will be a while.

So...this is what my truck had done to it when the following passes where made. For whatever reason the 1/4 trap speed wasn't working. Temp was 61*F. Like I said, she's fat and slow.

2004 Chevy Crew Cab Short Bed Z-71 4wd 5.3L LM7 / 4L60E / 3.73 gears

Magnaflow Muffler # 11229 3” SI/SO
AEM Pro Flow Dry Air Filter (oem panel style)
Airaid M.I.T.

Go run it, correct ET for weather. What does the butt dyno say? Does it feel noticeably quicker?
