DTW has an article, or they did, about the intake and exhaust upgrades they performed on an 05 Hemi Ram. The AEM Brute Force intake was good for 8 hp but the complete Flowmaster Catback system was only good for 2 hp, before and after dynos were done for each mod. The stock stuff is pretty darn good! As mentioned, the best bang for the buck is the Superchips FlashPaq, makes the biggest difference. It would be my first mod if I bought a new Hemi Ram, intake then exhaust.

I can tell you that my hemi dynoed at the wheels stock at 248whp. The last time I dynoed was in alot warmer weather (80+) and it was up to 278 with current mods. Superchips, msd 8.5mm, ngk iridiums, airaid CAI ...etc. My 1/4 times went from 15.4 stock to a 14.9 after mods. My next two mods are an APS torque convertor and either 4.10's or 4.56's. This should hopefully, with colder weather, help bring me down to 14.5's or better. Just wanna get in the 13's oneday NA 4x4! Fastest NA hemi I know of has run a 13.55. Low 12's with spray. Sick for 5000+lb brick.

Mine dyno'd 259 to the tires stock, it now dyno's 320 to the tires.
I've found longtube headers were worth a couple 10th's in the 1/4mile, which tells me about 20hp to be gained there, but only high up in the rpm range, it actually will lose a little low down.
CAI was good for all of 3hp and a 10th in the 1/4mile. Exhaust is about the same, mostly just to make it sound better.
Superchips on my 03 ram, dyno'd for all of a 5hp gain, and that was right across the entire rpm range. If you got a 04+ you'll get double that out of a programmer. Superchips big gains are in the torque management removeal between shifts and the extra 500rpm rev limiter.
Transgo shift kit, since I don't have the resistor that comes with the kit to increase line pressure, all mine did is make it kick down faster, which is always good. The resistor is probably good for a 10th or two, but if you got a 04+ superchips will also do that mod.
The 6.1L SRT8 cam was a big increase of about 25hp, however it killed my bottom end and gain lots 3500rpm plus, so my end gains were very little. I am now thinking about a KRC 218-220 cam or a comp cam 268. All give 35+ hp and don't lose so much down low.
The best mod so far was a Edge Mild Street Converter, 2600-2800 stall, it cut 3/10ths off my 60' time and will easily spin the 20's now. It may actually show a decrease in hp on the dyno, but it really makes the truck more fun to drive.
Other things you can do, Ported/Extruded Heads, big gains there, a E-fan really wakes these trucks up.
Keep in mind if you want to go more then 350hp to the tires, I'd beef up the bottom end, with the Toner ring issues, I'd get a mopar forged crank with a new toner ring, new rods and forged pistons. It's a lot of money and work to get them in, but I've heard of enough of these engines gernading 350rwhp and above to make me want to beef up the bottom end if I do any more mods.
Other tidbits... In 3rd gear at full throttle, the throttle plates actually close 10%. Brad over on DTW posted the throttle positon through the rpm range and his A/F. The plates closed up, and his A/F got richer which tells me the fuel is still flowing, but the computer is closing up the plates. No way around this currently other then going to a standalone system, which is big bucks. It also explains why these trucks fall on their face in 3rd.
Hope that info helps.

toe, not to highjack but with what your saying about the throttle plate being closed in third at WOT would it be to my advantage not to get the gears and stay with the 3.55's and just go for the Torque Convertor? The only reason I'm asking is because I go through the traps in second gear with 3.55's. It never gets to shift into third before the traps..(57-5900rpm's)

The converter will help liven thought the 330' but then the advantage is gone. I shift into 3rd at about the 1100ft mark.
Delaying the gears for a bit might be wise, but after another mod or two and you'll make enough power that you'll start getting into 3rd before the traps. Then it's probably worth it go to a 4:10 or 4:56 ratio. I am about at the limit to hooking up with the 20's with the converter/3:92. Any higher and I'll need to learn the art of feathering the throttle or put on the slicks.
The throttle plate thing is just odd, and seems to be ignored largely over at DTW. Brad (wbw1) posts the numbers from time to time, but nothing is ever really explored. Next time I am at the dyno I want to pull the whole CAI off and get a good look at the throttle plate right through to 6100rpm in 3rd. I doubt there is much we can do without finding a programming solution, or remove the drive by wire and get a cable connected, which could cause more computer issues. 10% doesn't seem like a lot but it was enough for me to lose to a stang mach1 by 6/10th's which I was neck and neck with right up until I hit 3rd.

I have a 04 dodge 1500 rc/sb and the only thing i have done to it is put a 50 series flowmaster, and fram boost cold air intake. And i have 315 rwhp. But mine came stock with 282 rwhp. So it was a good improvement over stock.

Not calling you out but to go from 282 to 315 seems too good to be true? In fact 282 at the wheels seems a little far-fetched with no mods. Good news is that I have definately been wrong before. Which gears do you have in your 04?
