Where did you get the Chrome moly toner ring from?

a fella named stu. he's a old school mopar guy that just so happens to be a mechanical engineer. it is the only one that has been made and it was for a motor he was building for his self. he was kind enough to sell it to me with a money back garentee. so if it works, which there is no logical reason it shouldn't, i am sure he will make more.

we got the motor out today and holy s**t!! when the toner ring blew apart, it hit the back two pistons and knocked big chunks out of both of em. you can see bottom ring on the number 7 piston. from what i have been getting out of my research, guys with the motoblue pully, sc tuner, and big n2o shots are having this problem.

Ahh cool, I was thinking it might be Stu's ring. I am just waiting to see how his ring does on a few vehicles before maybe going with just that over a whole new crank.

Aye eabigrick, that's why I want to correct the problem before I do something to my ring too as it does a heck of a lot of damage to the engine. Everyone one that's broken has taken out enough that you need to replace the block and 2 pistons as well, I think even one guy had head damage too. :\

after talking to stu for almost an hour about this ring and some of his other work i am about 99.9% sure it will work. but we will see. for what he charged me and if it works, it will be a good reasonably priced piece of insurance for me and others to avoid this nightmare in the future.

alright guys, the short block is in, the toner ring is installed, and the camp cams is in the new motor. everything is ready to go back into the truck, just waiting on the edge converter to come in to drop in the motor. whats really got me itching is i just got my 390/40/17 drag radials in today. cant wait to make a few passes on them. also the 4.56s will be here friday along with the nx wet kit. kinda figured all of this should bring me into the 12s and really start turning some heads around here.

I really don't think running the Superchips
is going to cause the problem. Running
the SC with other HP/TRQ increasing mods
may stress the TR. My truck is set at 6200rpm.
It shifts at 6050 to 6100 MAX. What is redline
stock? I have heard it's 5800rpm. Does anyone
believe 250 to 300 more rpm is going to make
that much difference on the TR??? I don't.
