5.7 Hemi to 6.1 Hemi ram swap ??
I have a friend who just hurt his motor in his 07 hemi ram using nitrous. He was wondering what needs to be done to swap a 6.1 in. I dont know dodges all that well. Any wiring, fabbing need to be done or is it a direct swap.

Direct swap for the short block. The Hemi cars and trucks have a different front cover and accessory location, but you can throw the old 5.7 heads (preferably ported) on the 6.1 block no problem.

Not much but a little wiring changes are required. He may have to refer to a garage before the swap for the wiring connections. dodge car models list provides entire information on cars and wiring for dodge cars.

NO WIRING IS NEED AT ALL FROM THE WIRING HARNESS. If he sticks with the timing cover from the LX 6.1 he will have to rewire his alternator wire and redo his powersteering lines, along with the A/C lines. Other than that the 6.1L bolts up directly. He will have to reorganize the harness to fit the 6.1L intake and not have wires all over it
