Default Ignition problems in CUmmins

I want to know whether anyone of you ever faced any ignition problems with your Cummins. Recently I had a bad experience. I was on the way to my home. Suddenly the ignition and complete electric unit went down without any notice. I lost the control over power steering. With the god’s grace, I could stop the vehicle without more troubles. It is a 2007 Dodge Cummins 5.9. What kind of initiative should I take? Can I get this resolved from any local workshops or should I contact the company straight?

sounds like an electrical issue and not a engine issue. possibly a battery, alternator, or bad power supply wire from the battery to the ecm. I would take it to a shop if you're not very electrical savvy.
