Default Gauging intrest in a diesel.

Okay time has come where I need to buy a truck and figure I should get a diesel. I know about diesels but dont know alot about them. I do not want to buy a new one coming off of a 30k car loan. What a good years to look at that wouldnt hit the wallet too hard? Also keep in mind I would want to mod it, so try to recommend a good year with a engine that takes well to mods ect all that stuff.

look for a 04-06 d-max with the lbz engine or an older turd with the 7.3 psd.

Test drive both the Dmax and the Cummins. See which one you like. BOTH are great proven trucks.

04.5-05 were LLY. Some 06's have the LLY also which is identical to the LBZ except tuning. Most 06's and all 07 classics are LBZ.
