I recently picked up an 06 cummins 6 spd, 128,000miles. This is my first diesel truck and Ive got a few maintaince questions. I live in central ohio were the coldest it normaly gets in winter would be single digits if that makes a difference for oil weight etc.
1.) what brand and weight of motor oil? filter brand?
2.) what brand of fuel filter?
3.) should I run a fuel addititive yr around? if so what kind?
4.) Id like to do cai and exhaust over the winter...any suggestions?

I bought the truck for a dealer, so not knowing a for sure backround of the truck is there any other maintaince things I should look in to?

Whatever suits your needs.I run Schaeffers synthetics only in mine.

FleetGuard...All the rest are just playing catch up.

Again,your choice and preference.Everyone has their own opinion on this.

There as many types of additives as their is oil made.Pick your choice and run with it.Howes,Power Service and FPPF are a few to try.

Again...Many different types and different filters,while I prefer AFE ONLY I do realize there are cheaper ones out there.Find the type that fits your desired underhood look and run with it.As for exhaust again many different brands but MBRP seems to be the most popular.

Best idea for you is find what fits your budget and gives you the look you desire and work with it.
