my 03 will not go above 2100 rpms. if i do, it's like a governor kicks in and takes it back to about 1000 rpms. what is my problem. the truck is a auto with 127k on it. nobody seems to know why it is doing this. truck is completely stock.

this happened to my buddys dmax once.......his fuel filter was clogged with bits of junk due to getting some bad fuel the last time he filled up. Might wanna check the fuel filter and make sure its good to go.

I had a similar prob when I drove big rigs. Diesel absorbs tons of water compared to gas, and your probily hittting the filters restricted limits when you rev it up. Thus causing lack of rpm for a minute.

I changed my filters on the side of the road, and presto. I always had spares, and you should too.

What's your fuel pressure at idle and high idle? What is the boost pressure doing?
