so of course last week i finally got around to doing a few things but didn't take any pictures while the truck was actually clean so I figure why not go take some today after the crazy storms we had all weekend...
fitted the voltmeter fit in the cluster
installed the radio plate
overall shot of the dirty interior
oh and the MAF crapped out on me so I picked up a new one of those too

the big question...n/a or boost
A Magnuson Supercharger would look awesome under that hood and one of those chrome flex hoses will clean up you top hose issue nicely
Sweet truck good job with the updates
I love those rims I'll be ordering a set for the van once I'm done with the restoration

did some shopping around to replace the clapped out shocks on the truck
I went with these KYB gas-a-just units.
advanceauto, vatozone, oriley etc all wanted $70 each.
found them on rockauto for $32 each plus a 5% discount

i havent updated this in a while and i realized im terrible at remembering to take pictures while i do this stuff...
so in the past month i replaced the o2 sensors (free of charge)*warranty from VatoZone* and i replaced the fuel pressure regulator/filter
i also noticed the charging system wasnt working too hot when i had my stereo on while using the AC so i ditched the 105amp alt for a 145 amp.
this then resulted in a new serpentine belt and while i was there i decided to charge my AC back up since it wasnt blowing very cold.
last night i finally changed out the beat up monroe shocks
prest-o change-o!
then i changed out these cab mounts
and boom. back to riding on a cloud...or something like that
while it was up in the air i greased up all the suspension and noticed a nail in my rear tire that was promptly pulled out then plugged.
i do actually go in for a tune at 2pm on friday at Blackbear Performance...FINALLY.
i have also been eyeing the Dakota Digital cruise control setup ($300) for my weekly drives to San Diego and started doing some research and found out i can just use the oem silverado cruise module which i scored on ebay for $30 and just have to come up with a means to set the system. a few guys sell the updated gm turn signal stalk with cruise control functions on it but i think it would look out of place so i just ordered up a toggle for power and a momentary to set. should get all that stuff this weekend and hopefully tackle it next week.
thats it for this update...

thanks. most people dont even recognize the QM
also another small update.
finally got the truck a proper tune this afternoon from Justin at Blackbear Performance.
right off the bat he noticed that the MAF was reading high causing the engine to run rich!!!! so he fixed that, dialed in the shifts, raised the idle a bit in anticipation for a cam swap, set up an aggressive shift mode in the tow/haul setting that i can run a momentary switch on pin 56 to activate.
after about 40 min of driving around and tweaking he he dialed it in and i was on my way. totally satisfied customer. i can already feel the difference in throttle response and the good ole butt dyno.
while he was working his magic we got to talking and i told him my current plans of a TSP 224r cam swap because i didnt want to deal with building the trans to run boost...turns out he has run 11psi through a 60e in his wifes tahoe for like 25k miles and all it has is a vette servo and his previous silverado had a blower running about the same psi through a 60e and it only had a shift kit...
so basically got my wheels turning again...
oh and all my cruise control stuff showed up today so hopefully i can set that up this coming week.

Awesome build! What color is that? It looks great!
Please share more info on the cruise control setup. What year is that module from? It looks like the one in my 95. I am going to wire it up to the 01 PCM speed signal and hope I works, but am not 100% sure. Any links to threads or where you found info that you could share?

I found this writeup over on 67-72 and it seems to be really simple.
im running a 2005 L33 motor but with the 99-02 cable throttle body and PCM so i picked up the cruise module from a 2002 and it *should* work perfectly
LS factory cruise control hook up - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network
although im going to change this a bit since im using the toggle/momentary instead of the cruise switch in this diagram
so actually it will look like this (ignore the clutch switch)
