Default Mcgaughys big brake kit for c10

Has anyone used Mcgaughys suspension big brake kit for a C10, are the parts reliable, any problems with them, they have a great price but I can't find reviews on them and they are $750 vs CPPs $1200 kit. I like that the calipers and pads are GM but I don't know about the quality of the rotors, hubs and spindles. I don't care about how it looks I just want better braking performance than stock. I have an LS swap, I'm planning on a rear disc brake upgrade as well. I want it to stop as well as it accelerates. I don't want to waste money on what looks like a good deal. The other kits I'm considering is the Big brake kit from CPP and the one from brothers trucks, I don't care about drilled and slotted rotors I just want bigger rotors for more torque on the wheel.

This is a 72 chevy c10 with 73-87 A arms on it so I will need the 73 to 87 kit. The reason I switched from the 72 is because this was a 3/4 truck and to switch it to half ton my only option was the 73-87 suspension.

I put Wilwood 2 piston calipers that bolt to stock spindles with their pads and ebay drilled and slotted rotors on the front of my 69 c-10 and it stops great.

I just finished the whole Wilwood disk brake conversion kit on the back but haven't drove it yet. Waiting on some new wheels with less offset since I swapped out my whole rear end to a little narrower one and the current wheels hit the in side of the tubs.

Did you notice a big difference in the 2 piston caliper vs the stock single piston, I have thought of going that route as well with a better friction material.

I never really got to drive it with the stock caliper as when I bought the truck it had a plugged brake line on the right front which kept locking up and dragging brake. I had done some swapping for the Wilwood calipers, so I bought Wilwood pads, a new set of rotors and just put new lines and everything on it from the git go. I will tell you it stops on a dime with these brakes though. It doesn't feel sketchy at all.

I am thinking of going with the Willwood D52 upgrade instead of the larger kit, the willwood calipers have the same size pistons as the larger brakes and the more I research the more I'm skeptical about 1 inch in rotor diameter making a difference in stopping power. I think upgrading the rear brakes to disc and upgrading the front calipers to the willwoods as well as a power brake booster will give me what I need. With the booster I can exert more pressure with less effort and not worry about a not having the muscle power to stop the truck or running out of pedal with a small diameter master clylinder. Did the stock wheels fit with the caliper upgrade.

I've been driving the truck for a couple weeks now with those caliper and the wilwood rear conversion and I'll tell you, this think will stop on a dime with 9 cents change! lol I have a vac booster and a descent sized cam and no issues at all! I'm running 15x8 wheels up front and both 3 and 4" back spacing fit just fine. 15x10's out back no and issues there either. I love them!
