Default 92 c1500 problem

Ok ive got a stupid question. What in the world is this in the pic. Im still trying to diagnose my problem. If you floor the truck from a dead stop it will surge in and out at WOT. Almost like the fuel is cut of and cut back on but im almost positive thats not it. Ive put new fuel pump, fuel filter, and distributor cap and rotor. Where should i look next. it does not feel like a common misfire or anything.[IMG][/IMG]

While you're at it go for a new oil pressure switch, they tell the fuel pump to run while oil pressure is being made. they can be a bitch to access but they do fail.

Oil pressure sender only commands the fuel pump if the fuel pump relay fails. Otherwise the truck will start just fine without the oil pressure sender even present in the circuit. Don't believe me and own a TBI truck, unplug the sender and start it. If everything is the way it should be the truck will fire up and run normally. I did this multiple times to show people on my TBI's years ago......

As far as the OP's problem. Could be fuel pressure related, which a gauge would tell. Or a combo or one of any other sensor on the truck nearly.

The original circled part is the Electronic spark control module, not to be confused with the pickup in the distributor. And of course the driver solenoid for the EGR valve on the backside of the same bracket.

doubt its the fuel pump if you hear it running then its fine it only needs 12 psi to be happy.
