Got some work done. Had some buddies come over and help me lift the cab onto the frame. Cut my home out for the trans tunnel but its not enough. I have to cut out around the driveshaft and the collectors for the exhaust still. The cab is resting on the headers right now. Looks like the cab is going to be LOW! Heres some pics.

Decided i didnt like the 80s style dash and it would take to much work to get the steering column hole to line up. Went out to the local yard on half off day in search of "something" wanted a metal dash just to make things easier and came across an old 66 that was beat all to hell and cut the dash out of that.

have some work to do. Has a lot of dents and the radio hole is hacked up.
I couldnt figure out what i would do for gauges now that i had a dash with 100mph mechanical speedo and no tach. Went to my junk pile and found a 94 z28 gauge cluster that is all electrical and about the size of the 66 dash cluster. And an hour later i made the z28 cluster fit in the 66 cluster. Still need to timt the glass around the gauges so it blends better but pretty good for free.

now i have to rewire the truck....AGAIN! plan to use the 66s light switch for my lights and the wiper switch to control the siren. Got told i will be using my truck in the veterans day parade so that should be a good goal to shoot for getting this thing done.
Also found some cadillac tail lights while at the yard and ordered some buckets to install them in the rear fenders.

And in theme for the parade started installing all of my various strobes and lightbars laying around from other project.

what tank is that. i recently bought a 25gal blazer tank 87 baffled, an a 87-92 sending unit. an plan going with 97 i think fuel pump. this is going in my 84 c10 lwb with a 5.3. my original tank only had 3 outlets an the new one has 4. can you tell me what the extra one is for, fuel return? also where do you plan on putting the fill tube. i really dont want to cut into the bed. an have looked into behind the tail light option

Tank is from an 87 blazer with efi (for baffles) im running the sending unit from the 87 blazer with the ep241? Pump. Might be 341? Its a popular pump for our setup. I have four tubes on my sending unit also. The lines are for fuel, return, evap, and the extra i used to run to the fuel tank pressure sensor while i had to be smog legal. Now its just capped off with a vaccuum port cap.

I toyed with many options for the fill port. I had a recessed one in the stake pocket of the stepside but i couldnt get a vent in there so it didnt fill correctly. I now have a fleetside bed fill door in my inner bed side on the drivers side. See if i can find a picture somewhere......

Havent been on here much. Nothing big to report. Got some little things accomplished to get this truck ready to cruise around this summer. Rear end is really stiff. Think i need to get new shocks. Might also take a leaf or two out of the back since i have 5 in there. Also i have no traction past say 1/2 throttle. Kind of annoying. I need to start my caltrac build but i want to cryise with the truck this summer and not have it apart again. Here are some pics from the other day i took her out.

Did some work today on the stereo. Got my amp mounted in the cubby below the middle seat. Built some kick panels for the 6.5" mids. Ned to find a clean way to mount the super tweeters. They are 3" in diameter and dont look good anywhere. I am running with no head unit. Phone is going to run to an EQ then to the amps. So i needed a switch for the amp wire and ran an old cargo light switch from an old ford in the kunk yard in the dash. Looks good i think. Pics!
