i have that exact motor setup and i went with the F1 cam. I actually haven't driven it yet but it idles perfectly at 1000 and sounds great. Just an idea.

The F1 will be horrible in the very low rpms. Any sizeable cam will have a lugging feeling in the 1200-1800+ rpm range.

This all depends on how much torque you are willing to part with. Stupidfast made 350/350 with the comp 212/218 cam on a stock LQ4. A larger cam than that will make a more HP, but cost you in the low rpms.

oh richard that is what the ati procharger is for. and technically the way the truck manifold is made it helps out on the bottom end and the F1 cam is built (so i was told) to compensate for the loss of the bottom end.

i think richard is scared of big cams...how much time do you really spend at 1500-1800 when getting on it really...maybe a second or so? i'm gonna be running a .592/.592 230/230 110 cam in my 6.0 forged motor.

I just got the FMS f-7 Cam for my build up 224"/230" .587"/.593" 114LSA
that should be fun with my Procharger

Not scared. How much time you you spend NOT getting on it, that is the question. My truck is a daily driver, and with the 4 speed automatic transmission, I spend 99%+ of my driving at 2000 or lower rpms. If you get a cam that big, the truck will lug around and feel like ***** in those low rpms. Mark my words. I'd rather give up a few HP from a big cam and have a cam that had good low end and excelent throttle response. I can make up that extra HP with just a lttle bigger nitrous jet. I'm not saying a big cam won't work, but for daily drivers, a properly sized cam would make me happier.

Richard, i was playing...i know your reasoning for the cams you like. what did you do with the cam you were gonna put in your 6.0? i have a friend looking for something for his TA. with gears and converter i think my cam should perform decent for a daily driver...and my daily drive is like 10 miles to work, maybe 15-20 to school so it's no biggie really. when is good for me to come get those headers richard?
