Anyone here have a Reflexxions steel cowl hood?

That site www.customclassic.com (http://www.customclassic.com) has them for $359, which is a good price. Plus it ships from Dallas, so I should be able to pick it up and not have to pay shipping. I've heard lots of guys using the Goodmark hoods and how well they fit. Anyone know about the quality of the reflexxion hood?

I have a Reflexxion hood on my truck and it looks very nice. The fit is decent. The fender to hood gaps are a little wide but not too bad. My friend bought a Goodmark and the fit was better. The two brands are almost identical except for the underhood support and the openning of the cowl. The Reflexxion has a series of slots for the openning and the Goodmark has a screen type mesh.

Thanks guys. Would you buy it again, or should i throw a few more bucks at it and get the goodmark?

What about the reflexxions SS race style hood? You know, the one with the SS ram air center and the vents to either side. That looks cool, but I've heard that a fiberglass hood is a pain to deal with.

richard, i got some hail damage on that storm saturday night so i'm getting a new hood and a HUGE dent on the roof fixed soon. i was looking at one of those ss hoods you are talking about also...i like it and i thought i could have the cowl painted flat black and the rest white. oh yeah, pick up a "truckin" magazine, i got one to look for some new hoods, one of the companies has an article in there of a hood/smoothie bumper/grille/mirror combe for like 450 total...seems like a good deal.

richard... one thing i noticed about the goodmark vs the reflexxion is that the goodmark has a smoother/wider cowl than the reflexxion.

i am going to insurance adjuster tommorow morning pretty much positive i am getting a new hood out of it but will get confirmation tommorow. My bro's damage on his car ended up at $4000 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Bryan - I told you that the hail damage money would be crazy high $$$. You ought to get a roll pan at the same time. $107 and the body shop cna easily spray it black for you with the rest of the stuff.

Matt - I've got the trucking mag and saw that ad. There is also an ad for "chassis tech" hoods for like $279 that says the goodmark, reflexxion and chassis hoods are all the same. Honestly, I don't believe them. The goodmark cowl does look different.

I may call the custonclassic.com guys and see if they can get any other hoods from the Dallas distributer, then I'll know my choices. It would also be nice to pick it up in person and inspect it for damage.

I'm also thinking of getting the cowl area sprayed a second color. I have a black truck and thought either a silver or darker gray would be a good matching color. Something like this:

I have been dumb enough to buy from them on 2 occations. Both times either the order was wrong, or not all there, and one of my hangers had to be cut wider bucause it was made to narrow for the spring.
My 2 cents:
Aim = Buyer Beware.

back when I bought had my hood, goodmark was pretty much the only company that made hoods for the new trucks......I never had any problem with fitting, etc......

Keep in mind the apparently the GMC/Silverado hoods are different as far as reflexxion

personally I still like the goodmark over all hoods that are now out there......

yeah beware of that chassis tech and AIM crap. just go to FSC and ask people their opinoins there. the number of bad opinions will BY FAR out number the good, if you even get one good. usually fit, quality, customer service, shipping time, or a combination of them will be bad.
