I was wondering if anybody out there has filled in the ugly long "ditch" running parallel with the ground along side of the truck(99-03)? I am very seriously thinking about getting a strip welded in the gap the whole length of the truck and fill it with bondo. I got the idea from a Lightning (or any new Ford I think). The Fords front fender and door has the same "ditch" but a lot lower. Looking at it certain ways you could imagine what it would look like one solid smooth fender,door,bed,etc.I think this would look very good. Do you think I am nuts for thinking about this? Maybe I am not the first to think about this?

I think that might look good as well...never really thought about it. Seems like kind of a waste of money tho to me for somethin that small.

I think I saw a truck with this done in Truckin', Sport Truck, or Street Trucks magazine recently. This could cost ALOT of money, I would put the money towards heads/cam instead. JMO

i just got my truck back from the body shop about two hours ago. and they fucked up my battery and had to buy me a brand new red top optima. but when i find another COMPITANT body shop around here i'm gonna have that gay little void filled in like you're talking about, and on the tail gate as well. probably some caddy tail lights if i can find some for a good price as well. probably be about a month or so until this happens.

man you better find someone who's a PRO at bodywork. and i don't mean a professional, i mean someone who can do wonders with bodywork, a natural. cuz to fill that in and keep a smooth consistent curve all the way around the truck is gunna take MIRACLES. not something i'd just let the average body shop do.
