Default weird rubbing sound/feeling

i have this weird rubbing sound and feeling in my steering wheel when i turn left or right. it almost feels like something is not lubricated and is rubbing against something. this is the 2nd time this has happened, and both times i had run through a pretty good height of standing water...

any ideas?

Water in the power steering resivior can do that. How long before it went away last time? It could also be a busted boot in a tierod that has no grease or gotten grit or gravel in it.

BTW, the words "rubbing sound/feeling" is not a good way to start a thread

and
"almost feels like something is not lubricated and is rubbing against something" Well, that's just plain sickning.

if feels like it's slowly going away day by day, so hopefully it's nothing major
