ok guys, post up. i need pics of trucks with 18" wheels and different size tires. please include tire size, and drop amount (if dropped). i'm having trouble finding 285/50/18 tires like i want so i'm considering other sizes and brands. suggestions welcome. also, anybody know the stock tire height?

Nitto makes a 285/50-18 SUV tire. And Yokohama. I don't know about anyone else.

 

I am also running the yoko 285/50. I did a lot of reasearch on that size tire before I bought mine. Here are your choices in the 285/50/18:
Goodyear Eagle GTII (only undirectional one)
Bridgestone Dualer HP
Yokohama AVS/ST
Michelin Pilot LTX
Prelli Scorpion Zero
Nitto 404

The Nittos and the goodyears are the cheapest of the bunch (~$155ea) with all the others being around the $200 mark with the Michelins being the most expensive at ~$230 a tire. My first set of tires on these rims were the 404s and frankly if I had it to do over again I would save the extra 200 I spent on the Yoko for something else.
Appx size for the 285/50 is 29.2" and the stock 235/75/16 are 29.4" My truck has a 2/4 and that size is a perfect fit.

While we're talking about tires, can anyone tell me how tall is a 255 70 R16, 285 60 R16 and a 275 65 R16 (if there is such a size.)

 

255/70/16 = 30.05

285/60/16 = 29.46

275/65/16 = 30.07

i cant find the goodyear 285/50s on tirerack or discount..
if i decide to go with 18s... vs 20s
ill get the goodyears and run a 18/9.5 all around with 285/50s
wouldnt mind a 295 though...

would the 9.5s be too wide up front?
maybe i need to make a thread with all the wheel tire questions i have....

 

I have 285's on 18x8 wheels with a 5" B/S. Be careful with a 9.5" wheel. Get a test fit done first. Also 285 is the widest point of the tire, not the tread width. A Goodyear has less tread width than my Yokohamas. The tire websites "tirerack and discount" don't have "everthing" listed. You will have to call around.
