I just installed denali guages on my tahoe last week. I didn`t remember the thrill of watching the needle dissappear past 120MPH.I even had a chance encounter with an Audi TT roadster who was probably very surprised when an SUV began inching away from a 90MPH punch anyway he gave up about 120MPH. I guess that was fast enough with the top do <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> wn.Sure am glad I didn`t any state troopers.

Sounds like you have a quick tahoe, whats it got done? How much did you pay for those gauges and is the only difference the speed?

tbyrne carries the gauges I believe.

The speedo goes up to 120 mph and they also have a built in tranny temp gauge below the message center.
As well as the backlighting being a blue colo to my knowledge.

I am thinking about buying one for my truck. But I dont want to have to pay to get my milage and everything switched around.

Denali gauges can be purchased from TByrne Motorsports for about $230 and include a transmission temp. that plugs in and works with no modifications. My Tahoe is running a Hypertech tuner 180degee thermistat Flowmaster catback exhaust GMS mass air sensor & cold air system.(soon to have a-zspeed headers & Flex-a-lite 280 fans)

I've asked this before and I'll ask it again since no one seems to answer me. What about the odometer? I know it automatically calibrates the needles, but does the new IP show the correct mileage (mileage on stock IP before removing it)?

JPCustoms (www.jpcustoms.com) sells the same units as well as Escalade, Avalanche, etc IP's for slightly less.

This mileage and hours have to be swapped over between the two units by a odometer/speedometer shop. I have heard many different prices as to what people charge for this. I believe it is also the law to have a sticker places on the door seal to show that the mileage has been messed with in some way.

You can use the new bezzel without having the mileage swapped and just start back over with 0 miles. However, then a difference in the mileage on the odo and the milage/time that your computer will show for a code can show that you have messed with the mileage to a dealer.

I think I will wait until my warrenty is over and then I will swap out the units....since I dealership will never work on my truck unless its for a warrenty problem.

Plus not switching over the mileage is not too trustworthy.....but I'm not one to judge..... I think its the individuals call on what they should do about it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Aloha whitt1!

I bet you must surprise a lot of cars and trucks out there <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . I have a 01 Yukon 5.3 and have similar mods to you (I have the ASP underdrive pulley and overdrive alt pulley). But I have never gone over 100mph...too many radars in Hawaii plus we don't have those looooong streches of roads here.

Have you ordered your ASM's yet? I have mine on backorder from TBYRNE since beginning of May. I hope they get here soon. I'm anxious to do the install myself and drive it to the local exhaust shop and have them do the welding. Do you also plan on putting on a TC?

I just found out that JPCustoms is about 1/2 mile from my work and I know where the place is and plan to go there in the next few days. I am interested in the steering wheel controls for the radio.

Seeing as though I plan on trading in or selling this one when the next newest and greatest 8.1 comes out, I think I'll stick with the stock cluster.

YUKONTURTLE:
is there actually street racing in Hawaii?

Yes there is but we have had some fatalities here that the lawmakers want to make legislation to confiscate your vehicle if you are caught street racing.

We also have Hawaii Raceway Park (1/4 mile track) and some road courses too. I haven't been to the park to get any timeslips though...one day <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> .
