Default oil pressure sending unit?

heres the deal, ive always had good oil pressure... then one day a couple of months back i look down and its reading 20lbs lower than normal.it gradually got slightly lower, and would fluctuate at idle.im driving back from town after having my truck diagnosed for an unrelated problem, i look down, 0 oil pressure. i just kept driving it. drove it probably 25 miles to the house, the truck never made any unusual noises. its been parked for about a month. i get to talking to a couple of friends who are more knowledgable than me,as to engines and such, and they tell me theres no way my truck would have made it that far with no oil presure, they say it has to be the sending unit. what do you guys think? anyone had this problem before?

thanks

I agree. With zero oil pressure there's no way you would have driven 25 miles and had the engine survive

I agree too. Could be sending unit OR the guage cluster itself.
