Default vortec max MPG? And more ?

I found a really good deal on a 06 ext cab 4x4 vortec max with the 6.0.

I know first hand the 1500hd 4dr with the 6.0 gets about 10mpg on average which is HORRIBLE. I was wondering if the 1500 vortec max gets any better? And what else is generally different? Im assuming a 4l65e for tranny and would it have 3.73 or 4.10 gears? Anyone know of the top of their head the RPO "g" code for the two different gear options?

Thanks!

The V-max should get better because it has a better OD vs the 1500HD 4l80. And its a half ton and weighs less.

It's more than likely 4.10

GT4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.73 RATIO
GT5 -- AXLE REAR, 4.10 RATIO
GU4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO
GU5 -- AXLE REAR, 3.23 RATIO
GU6 -- AXLE REAR, 3.42 RATIO
G80 -- AXLE REAR, LIMITED SLIP (Locker aka Gov Bomb)

Dont go any less than 4.10, that's just my opinion after having changed from 3.42 to 4.10. Mileage with 6.0 and 3.42s = 12.8 average. First calculated tank on the 4.10s = 14.5 mpg! And trust me, I got on it a couple times too Im very happy.

I have a 2WD VMax, and I got about 12-14 in town and about 17-19 on the highway.
My truck has 3.73's.

Now, with the supercharger....If I stay out of boost on the highway, I get about 2 more mpg and lose about 1mpg in town.

A coworker has an 07 current body style vortec max 2wd and he gets 18 with it in 4 cylinder mode. I'm pretty sure he just has 3.73s. He got 8-10 pulling his 4500 pound camper trailer and it was constantly hunting between 2nd and 3rd.

Comparing an HD's fuel economy to a half tons is pretty much apples to oranges. I swear about half the 6 liter HD's to roll off the line got a limp home mode only PCM program. I honestly don't know how else you could make such a small engine use so much gas with such low gearing.
