Default paint new transmission?

getting a FLT tranny. and can't decide if i want to paint it or not.
options are:don't, red, black, or lime green.

Actually clear coating makes cast aluminum look dark like its wet sorta does not look nice at all

They used to, my first 2 were but my current one is the raw aluminum.
I thought about painting mine too... but really what'd be the point for me? It's a DD and never will be shown.

I personally like the virgin aluminum look and that is why we do it. You are buying a new trans and when you get it that is exactly how it looks. NEW!!! We install many new parts in our units which are listed on our web site and many others that are not listed. Why should the trans not look new when you get it? I have worked in many shops that have painted units. When I started working for Chuck we use to media blast the cases and then paint them. Don't get me wrong they looked very nice. But to me painting a unit looks like you are covering up something. We take a lot of pride in our units and when you open the box you will see it for yourself! It's new! Vince


BTW Frank you would pick lime green!
