Im currently running MT / ET STREETS 28x11.5x16, they work ok but arent enough tire for me. Im thinking of running a Hoosier 28x11.5x16, they are about 1.25 wider in the tread and the same height.
But im also thinking of a gear swap from 4.10 to either 4.30 or 4.56(i can get these extremely cheap), but if i do that i know that im going to have to go with a taller tire.
Whats some opinions here???? Gear swap or just tire change. I know a gear swap would get me a few more tenths and wouldnt hurt the drivability too much.

gear swap IMO. Having had 4.10s now, I wish I went with 4.56. You can get 4.56 OEM too.

get the hoosiers and do the gear change. with a 28" tall tire and those 4.56's you'll still have enough gear to cross in 3rd N/A.

Will you be mounting these on factory wheels?

well if i go with the 4.56 ill be going with a taller tire i think! If i need to i will get some other wheels to put the tires on.

Shoot they are already finished off..lol I think i may have a few more passes in them though

do you have to run tubes in slicks? I need to get at least a drag radial, this 4.8 has more in it if it would hook on the line.

why are you going to get a taller tire? That will cancel out the gears.

More sidewall on the tire= more traction. Then lower the gear ratio back down to cross the traps in high rpm.

the tire height dont affect the launch as much as the weight of the tire. and the gear ratio is going to help launch harder. So with launching harder with a 4.56 gear, i would more than likely run out of rpm before the traps with a 28" tire so i would need to go taller. Im just not sure of what size tire to go with, with the 4.56 ratio. Ive been thinking of going with a 29.5"
