Default 2008 5.3 w/ 4-speed VS 2009 6.0 w/ 6-speed

I took out a crew cab last fall with the 5.3 4-speed combo and it felt good, pulled strong. I took anther crew cab out this time with the 6.0 and new 6-speed trans and it felt slow, just like a f-150.

Whats the deal? Did GM reduce the power or crank up the torque management to the max of because of the 6speed?
I'm pretty disappointing because in my mind getting the 6.0 with the 6speed was going to be the no brainier choice but no I'm not sure.....

i think its all in your mind. the 5.3 would probably run low 16's high 15's while the 6.0 should be atleast a second quicker in the 1/4.

That's correct CC 5.3 runs 1 second slower.
