its been a long time comin... for those who dont know, its been in for the body drop for a while so i decided to suicide the doors at the same time.. since there was gonna be bare metal, the door jambs would have to be repainted so why not do a color change right? well that involves pulling the motor.. so why not go from the v6 to something bigger right? then i decided to go from the 99-02 front to an 03+

first layer of duraglass sanded down

beginning work on the shaved gas door

while i was working on the body work, my dad was scraping the frame for paint..

scraping the frame wasnt bad.. just spray some carb and choke cleaner on it and scrape with a putty knife

this sounds painfully familiar :funny: my truck started as a mild 5.3 daily driver:sigh:

looks like a sweet truck, though I like the 2000 front end better.

i'm not sure.. the guy who body dropped my truck picked it up for me.. it was less than 100 bucks i know that.. it works perfectly.. mine hasnt actually been used but he has used them on other trucks that i've been in and they worked great.. they are actually gold when you get them but we sprayed black over it when we did the firewall

your super lucky that someone like ur dad is helping you...i wish my dad would have interest in my hobbies...

tell me about it.. i've been building the truck for almost 5 years.. i got it when i was 15 1/2.. if it wasnt for my dad this truck wouldnt be anywhere near where it is today.. he has paid for a few of the smaller things on the truck (optima battery, remote start, first system) but i could care less about that.. hes been there every step of the way helping me figure everything out and build it.. we've made many trips out of state picking up parts to get it built.. you can bet when i take it to car shows i will register it under mine and my dads name.. and if it ever gets featured, it will have me and my dad listed as the owners..

for reference.. this is what the truck looked like before i tore it back down.. took 3 and a half years to get it to this point.. built this through highschool
