normal pick up is about 10 hp from taking the WP out of the loop..

706 heads are fine to be worked, but by the time you put new springs, upgraded stainless valves, clean the bowls, port/polish the chambers/runners, 5 angle valve job, and mill them.. you could most likely but some nice TSP heads, or WCCH heads..

headwork i mentioned will run you around $800 without the springs and new valves.. and retainers, valve seal, etc....

give Richard at WCCH a call and talk it over, very helpful guy. or you can buy these dumbass Patriot heads i have

Meziere LS1 EWP here. You will need to space it out in order to align with your current truck accessories and cut your upper radiator hose to fit. So far I am enjoying it.

It is spaced the equivalent of 4 gaskets on each side. Any more than that, I would suggest longer WP bolts. I have driven it, blipped the throttle, hit 6300rpms, on and off the throttle hard and never threw a belt. Sure it can be spaced more however in my case, didn't need to be.

Not for nothin' but the mechanical WP on my wife's AV failed at 17,000mi.

The research I've seen shows that these are now reliable, DD quality pumps.

I putting the same one Krambo uses on my new 427 (tho it's not going to see DD duty).
