I think that regal's turbo would suck in my truck whole. There are smog laws and full inspections. they plug into your ob-II system and run it at 2500 rpms or some shit. it is simply a matter of making the computer think it is seeing what it wants to see

What are the build specs on your 454???? 685rwhp is a killer n/a number

its getting a 496 stroker. full scat balanced light weight bottom end, 12.5:1 compression, fully worked 781 heads, 248/252@.050 .600/.610 roller cam, accel high-rise multi-port, 1000 cfm tb, scorpion roller rockers. still debating on the tranny, not sure if i should stick with the th400 or build a power-glide and either 3.73 or 4.10 gears

I never thought of it like that. Sounds like u could be a salesman for cages & rollbars. I just hate how that stuff encroaches upon driver, I mean w/ climbing around stuff & all. I know it's for function tho.

The bars were only there for 5 minutes and they did no damage. I heard the car is going to paint anyways.

I think it is a very comforting feeling having that cage wrapped around you when you are going 130mph.

The truck looks sweet man, I was down at DMC on thursday with my buddy dave checking out his regal. The tub's came out nice and the cage looks sweet, they certainly got there shit together at DMC.

curious to how you think they be seen? a solid cap with no glass wont show bars plus his bars taper down from the rear window. most caps are to the roof line. you would see between cab and cap but that are so minimal

Got the word tonight.....I will not race this season :( Shit happens and stuff always takes longer than planned. Winter is here very soon and the track closes on Oct 29th. I dont want the painter to cut corners and Slowhawk needs his time to do his thing. It sucks but oh well.... at least the paint will be done right and it will be perfect for next season..... 9's on a radial........

Well after over a year, the truck is finally back at Slowhawk Performance, so Don can work his magic. Picked the truck up today from the paint guy, who did a kick ass job. Painted the cage, all the suspension parts, most of the frame, inside of the bed, outside of the bed, filled in the stake pockets, filled in and smoothed the gas filler door and is relocating the tailgate handle. The pictures dont do it justice.......now its time to put her all back together....

Some small updates. They two-piece drive shaft came in and Don is now getting it mounted. The shifter is in and it should be on the dyno tomorrow to make a few light passes to get the rear end broken in.

Truck looks good, stopped by Saturday to check it out. I meant to ask Don, but why did you need to get new axles? What is/was wrong with the ones in the rearend now?

The axles that the builder ordered has 5/8th studs, not the 1/2 we had speced out. so they would not work with my street wheels. I had to order new 40 spline axles from Strange with 1/2inch studs this time

why wouldn't you just have 1/2" studs drilled between the 5/8"s holes? There is no way it would really weaken it, plenty of big hp cars are run axles with a LOT more holes in the end plate, just curious.

the axles were the lightened racing axles that strange makes. the space between the studs was already drilled out to about 1" size holes. Trust be i looked at EVERY possible fix before shelling out more money

ahh, I didn't notice that. Well hope to see it done soon. Let me know next time you head down, maybe I'll swing by again, as long as Don don't mind.

Finally found someone to mount and balance the street wheels. I never thought 16" wide tired would be a "odd" size to mount. Also the new correct axles will be here on the 31st of this month. So that only leaves Don with the front suspension to start/finish and then the truck is DONE!!!!!!!!!

But, I have to say that DMC Racing and Slowhawk did a killer job. This thing is just wrong. Spins the 16" wide Mickeys at 70 mph all the way will 130mph. I could barely pull on a high 12 sec fbody last night on the highway :( :( :( well I was sideways :devil:

But, I have to say that DMC Racing and Slowhawk did a killer job. This thing is just wrong. Spins the 16" wide Mickeys at 70 mph all the way will 130mph. I could barely pull on a high 12 sec fbody last night on the highway :( :( :( well I was sideways :devil:

Don hit 210mph on the dyno with it, so I guess the legs have been streched. I am supposed to run it at the track on Sunday, but I dont have my drag wheels back yet :mad: :bang: :cry: so I guess I will see how the street tires hold up

Bumper2Bumper in Brockton, the only other place I knew that could do it was Kenwood Tire in Bridgewater, but I didn't like the guys attitude when I walked in there, just another know it all my shits better type guy. Also Direct Tire in Watertown said they could do it, but B2B was closest and $120 to mount and balance them all, plus they even got the rears to balance perfect.

I don't believe so, the machine they have barely touches the rim while the tire is stretched onto it, and anything that does touch it is all plastic.

The next show is May 11th. The rims are fine, for now. Hell the tires just spin anyways so you really cant feel any imperfections in the wheel
