ok, i have a 98 jimmy 2x4 4door with 157K on the dial. the thing probably has never had a tune up. im inexperienced with the 4.3 vortec and was wondering what mods would help out with fuel econimy. but power is always a plus. any advice would be apprecated.

A good tune up ( plugs, wires, fuel filter etc ) maybe do a cold air intake or just a OEM replacment K&N filter. If you don't mind the noise, you can do exhaust too, but 4.3's with exhaust can get LOUD.
Just do the basics, and it should help.

thats what i was planning on. i arleady have a oe K&N and changed the 7K miles over oil change. and im planning on changing all the other fluids. what about a set of hot wires exc. something to up the anty as for power. im not looking to have a hot rod, but more power is always nice.
as for the exhaust, would you recomend a set of headers and something like a magnaflow system running dumps? i also need to replace the ring and pinion or just go all out and replace the rear-end. any idea on that?
