well, the cam was delivered yesterday. after reading the card, and adjusting the lift for my rocker ratio.
looks like it'll be just shy of .600 full lift.
I got all the bottom end parts in from the race shops. I'm gonna start bottom end assembly, next week. (after Daytona weekend).
Still waiting on the heads.
But dont worry, i'll post plenty of pictures cause i'm dong the build myself.

it is a 4.3, but I would never touch it. It always interested me because it's different. I've seen a few twin turbo and blown V6's and it's just different.

Brandon,
How's the project coming along? I haven't seen anything lately on PS or here.

i'm finishing mocking up the bottom end. Alot of work had to be done to the block, both by the machine shop, and myself. The H-beam rods barely clear the block, so i gave some clearance around the bolts.
All the bearing clearances are spot on, the rings are sized, and bottom end is waiting for final assembly.
I have all my parts in stock, except for the injectors. I've decided to send the transmission to Rossler for a Terminator 3 rebuild.
The speed shop doing my heads, has parts on backorder, so once they become available, i'll have the heads, and can procede with finishing the motor, and tuning it.
My ony fabrication will be the downpipe, exhaust, and intake piping. The turbo is larger then what i had planned.

Yeap.....the awd is the main reason that I picked one up. My halfton was pointless on the street....just blew'm off everytime you put the pedal down. Couldn't stand the quietness in the Sy/Ty though. But the problem when you open the exhaust up is trying to find the right tone....especially when you're use to the sound of a V8. AWD definitely an advantage on the street though.

we have a Typhoon in at our dealer getting a new PCM and injectors right now. Those things are awesome, I have not driven it, but they just look soooo good. This one is all black and in excellent stock form. I'd buy one if they weren't so damn expensive.

Nice. Are you planing on running the stock A2W set up or are you going A2A. Plans on running alky too? Di you go with the Vortec head swap? Can you post some pics of the truck? Are you a member on SyTy.net? Check the "Homecoming" thread in the Events section, for the Michigan show happening next month. It's a really fun show, and ALL Syclone's and Typhoon's.

Are you going to be running stock injectors? :bomb: It looks like it in that pic.
I've been lurking on your build both here and syty.net since I find it interesting to see how fast you'll go. I find it interesting, because you're not doing the norm, like just going straight to vortecs/bowties, aftermarket hot parts, an 80E, or just a V8 swap. It seems like a nice budget build with parts that'll work well together.
Do you have any pics of the heads, and what port work was done to them?

30 over stock block, 4bolt splayed mains, h-beam rods, TRW pistons, stock crank, heads are L35 ported by Waller with 2.02 and 1.60 valves, 1.6 pro mag rockers, 875 lifters, pro mag pushrods, custom cam, 65# high imp injectors (would have needed 75 or 83, but i have meth so 65's are ok), AlkyControl meth injection, 72mm turbo from Precision, Code$59.

came extremely close to it running tonight.
had a bad ground wire, and the battery was grounding through the O2 sensors, and thin ground straps.
so i need to ground the engine a little better. it cranked fine, had no leaks, good fuel pressure, just a matter of better grounds.

wow, havent been here in awhile.
Update. The truck is running great. Tonight i'm going to a local 1/8th to do some shakedown passes, and see how the truck wants to launch.
I've been running 25psi. Which has blown the turbo pipe apart several times. So for the sake of fixing the truck on the side of the road every 5 minutes, i've back the boost down to 20psi. And at 20 i havent blown the piping apart.. yet.
Its my first timing tuning anything, so it's not 100% outta the box. I've got my fuel map almost perfect (until i turn on the meth). and i've been fiddling with the spark charts.
i'll post back with some 1/8 timeslips later on.

oh btw, last time i was at the track (1/8th) it ran a 8.2 @ 84mph.
had the slipping converter, a 3psi launch and 15psi of boost.
now with the rebuilt converter (its tight now), the nice big K&N and running 19psi. it should be mid 12's conservatively.
I wanna get a solid 1/4 mile run, before i plug in the meth injection.

Well its parked for the winter. Stopped at the dyno before i put it away.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpFJHINrCYU
didn't go over 4800rpms, but i hit 140mph. Cam is set for 5500rpms. still have some tweaking to do.
To date, best 1/8th mile is 7.9 @ 86mph, with a 1.7 60'. spinning all four tires.
Winter mods include Nitto 555R drag radials, a set of Battle Bar traction bars, and some driveshaft loops.
