Default Most Trusted...or Correct

Who is the most trusted or correct on-line appraiser...??

NADA?
EDMONDS?
KBB?

Looking at trading the truck in on a 2005 D-Max and was looking at what I could expect from the dealer, all three gave me different #'s

Nada= $16,000

Edmonds=$13,500

KBB=$12,000

So who is closest to actual trade-in value?

Thanks

Really it depends on the dealer and location, but I would guess KBB will be the closest. Most dealerships like to stick it to you on a trade in like that so they make a nice profit.

most dealerships use none of the above, they take a quick look at local/regional auctions and see what a comparable vehicle is bringing on the auction block and base the trade in value off of that and what they believe it would take to recondition the vehicle for resale....generally speaking the before-mentioned apprasiers will get you in the ballpark though

Thats what floors me...My vehicle is in good shape...really no reconditioning needed...but they are crazy to think I would take $12,000....!

Your best bet is to try and sell it on your own. It is a very rare occurance that you would get what I would call a "fair" price on a trade-in that new.

Don't go to a big city dealership. My father got BlueBook value for his 04 GMC at a dealership in Weatherford TX, no haggling at all. Before he went there another dealership in Fort Worth quoted him ALOT less....

what i always do is take a print-out from each website, and make them reach a ballpark figure in the middle of trade-in value of the averaged value. if they want to make a sale, they will do it. just make sure you act like you dont give a ****, they respond better to that. if you act like you "have to have it" they are gonna **** you!

i ALWAYS work the deal on the new vehicle first, then work the trade-in. i dont ever mention "trade-in" until a price is reached and circled on paper for the new vehicle.

good luck on it either way!
