Need Help with tuning
#1
First off have a 5.3 with a 4l60e in my '76 nova Headman headers no cats h pipe and bullets 225walbro fuel pump. I have Hp tuners and new to using it. I was at the track last night and noticed that my ltft b1 and b2 were at 25 stft was high also at idle. I know this can't be right becuse my buddies truck does not have such high numbers. My questions are what can i do to correct this? Do I have to tune for my fuel pump becuse i have not? I also only have one set of O2's I used a painless wiring harness did not delete any out of computer no check engine light has come on. The car runs good will attach my scan file from my pass at the track last night and my tune file if some one could look at it i would appricate your imput. Thanks Zack

I haven't looked at your logs. HPT not with me.
You didn't mention whether they were positive or negative but assuming they were positive. What this is telling you is that in closed loop based upon what the MAF is seeing flowing in and what the results are from the 02 sensors after the combustion process, to maintain something near stoich of 14.7:1 the PCM is having to add a lot of fuel to maintain something near stoich. You are right that is too high, especially if these numbers are being seen in the LTFT's. LTFT's are the real measure of how close the tune is. STFT's can swing big time in a short amount of time and then the trends are transferred to the LTFT's over long periods of time.
Causes can be many. From wrong info in the tune. To mechanical problems. Maf problems, exhaust leaks, intake leaks.
Not much help I know. Suggest hitting HPT forums and read, read, read.
