how bad is tap water for cooling system?

Default how bad is tap water for cooling system?

i got in a hurry last night and filled up with a water hose after swapping heads. is it guna hurt anything? whats the correct procedure for doing this the right way?

I dont think so.....evertime I've changed coolant on one of these trucks its half coolant, half hose water...

how many jugs of dexcool makes it close to 50/50?

i need to flush it anyways to get all that gasket crap out.

I think its just one...

Seems like whenever I do a cam swap I put in one jug of dex-cool, then fill it with water and pour that in. Then top it of with water or Dex-cool if you have another jug..

Fill the radiator with coolant and water until it doesnt seem to keep going down. It should take one full coolant bottle of DEXCOOL, and about 1.2 full coolant bottles of water. I don't premix the coolant/water since I know its about one bottle each anyway. Now reconnect battery.
That is straight out of the ls1how-to cam swap instructions.

i'm still running the tap in my truck from the headswap.no problems so far.....other than the tranny goin byebye lol.
