anyway to write over a locked PCM???????

 

No, other then desodering the flash chip from the board and reflashing it with an Eprom burner. It must be unlocked by the person who locked it.

 

It makes me mad that nelson wont send me a copy of my tune unlocked they say that they have to send me a stock tune!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Weird, when I was using him I had HPT, so he would email me tunes and I'd flash them myself, log, and send back the logs. He'd update the tune and email it back to me. Never said a word to me about not wanting to send me unlocked tunes.

me and a local over on tech hooked up his HPT today and tried to scan but everytime we tried it said "access denied" whats up with that???????? called allen and he said we should be able to scan and look at everything. would this be caused from swaping gauge clusters and not them being programmed yet???!!!!!!!

 

Nah, should be able to go to the scan part and it will scan/log the runs. But thats about as much as you can do with a locked pcm.

 

it would show the vin# and make/model of truck, but thats about it. he emailed HPT and waiting for a response on whats happening

 

Did it give you any error message?

 

I emailed HPT about the same problem before they told me that either I change the PCM get a new one or have my tuner to unlock it cause there is no other way to unlock the PCM.
