Shattered Ankle!!!
This actually happened back in August but I wasnt able to get down to computer for a few months...
Anyhow I was dirtbiking and hit a 30 ft jump but I was a gear low and came up a couple feet short on my landing and cased it. I didnt even know it was broke so I rode for another 3 hours but I couldnt put any wieght on it...I went home and then went to the doctor the next morning. They told me I needed surgery ASAP and that it was shattered into about 20 peices...I had a Halo on my leg for 3 months and Ive been in a walking boot for a month and just started walking last week.

Oh and I didnt have heath insurance so this cost me about $10k for the surgery, anesthesia, hospital bills, and the fixator after the hospitals charity program took care of 60%, plus i cant run my Tile business so Im pushing papers part time at my grandparents flooring company for $15/hr until I recover. Luckily had had money in savings to pay my bills for 6 months..The truck mods are definatly being held off for a while lol unless i get some stuff for Christmas

**** only $10k? I would have thought it would have been A LOT more. When I had meningitis it cost me $8k for a 4 hour stay in the hospital with no surgery. A spinal tap, CT scan, MRI, and the medicine they gave me added up quick though.

I Stuck both Tib & Fib through the skin just above my ankle, only thing left was the ball in the ankle socket,everything else was snapped off clean. I had almost the same fixator as yours. same 3 months layed up. after the Insurance paid their part I still paid about 8K. Foot moves up & down a little now. but absolutly no left, right or twist.
