Default shitty luck

we pulled from a 6 weeks underway yesterday and i was looking forward to going and getting some beer in me. i jumped in my truck, turned the key...nothing. all of the lights and gauges were working but the voltage was a little low so i popped the hood and noticed some corrosion on the positive battery cable. i went and bought a coke and cleared up the corrosion, got in, turned the key...nothing. so i flagged down a guy from work and asked for a jump, let it charge for a few minutes, turned the key...nothing. so i pull the battery out, take it to advance auto, they put it on the charger and tell me to come back in an hour. when i get back they tell me the battery is shot so i spend $70 on a new battery and go on my way. put the battery in, still nothing. at this point i decide i am wasting drinking time and head to the bar, everything goes good...until this morning. i get to the gate, less than 500 feet from work and realize that i dont have my wallet. i call my buddy whose house i slept at, he says my wallet is on his coffee table. i figure i will just have one of my friends escort me into work which people do all of the time, but some know-it-all ******* newb is at the gate and wont let me in without an id. so i borrow my friends car and got to my buddy's house to get my wallet. i get there and i cant get the key out of the ignition. i spend 20 minutes looking for a lock or lever or something before i call the ship, have him woken up and call me back. turns out the shifter goes past park and you have to click it back down into park to get the key out. so im walking through my buddy's yard towards the front door and step in a huge pile of dog ****. so now my truck doesnt start, im late for work and i have dog **** all over my left boot. i get my wallet and head to work, get stuck in traffic for 45 minutes so the 10 minute drive from me buddy's house to work takes almost an hour. i ended up getting to work about an hour and a half late as opposed to an hour early, when i would have gotten here and everyone already knows about all of my bad luck in the past 12 hours and proceeds to tell me how funny it all is. so today i am going to pull the starter off my truck and take a look at the solenoid, after i clean the **** off my boot, hopefully that is all that is wrong with it. hopefully this brightens somebody's day.
