Default What is the best method to install Torsion keys in an 04 Yukon XL

My lowering kit for my wife's vehicle got here today and I need to know the best way to remove the torsion keys. It mentioned using a tool but I don't have one and don't know if I have access to one. Thanks

Did a quick internet search they show some good pictures here of the tool they mention. Not needed but much easier. They are lifting this truck same applies for lowering.

I got a 2 jaw puller and loosened the adjusting bolts. Used the 2 jaw puller to keep tension on the key to pull the metal block out. Then slowly backed off the 2 jaw puller releasing the tension. Once the tension was off just pulled the old out and put the new ones in. All total to lower her truck took me 1 hour and 20 minutes front and rear. No if the rear springs would settle it would look badass.

Do you have Autozone in your area? I know they have the torsion bar tool.

Yeah all total it only took me about an hour and a half to lower. One thing though if you have the heavy duty shocks and plan to lower it install the shock extensions. They were keeping the rear end up an 1 and a half. Installed them and got the full 3 inch drop in the rear.
