Question Which LED to use for HVAC/Radio Lights?

Ok I was able to solder in new radio lights with the regular incandesents from radio shack but now I have the bug and would like to do the LED's. I understand the process to do them with resistors, just am unsure of the bulb choice.

I would like to do blue, but am not sure which LED to go with, more intensity at less of an angle or less intensity at a large angle? These are the ones from superbrightleds. When you guys are doing the HVAC/radio and other dash lights (non-cluster) what angles have you chosen and would you go with something different if you had to do it again?

PN Color bright angle
RL5-B12120 Blue 1200 120°
RL5-B2545 Blue 2500 45°
RL5-B4630 Blue 4600 30°
RL5-B2430 Blue 2400 30°
RL5-B5515 Blue 5500 15°

Thanks guys,
Andrew

Agreed, just wondering if the 120 is going to be too dim.

when I do I sure will, just need to get a consensus on which lights seem to work the best for people.

I use PLCC SMD LED's.

What to look for is:

120° Viewing angle
Around 500 MCD <--- Very Important
Between 20ma and 30ma of foward current
Between 3 to 4 Foward Volts

ok, cool. I've seen yours but wasn't sure what angle those are. I think I'll try the 5mm 120 degree spread one. I'll try and order those up and be good to go. Looks like I'm off to pick up some 560 resistors. It looks like if I use the 1200mcd with the 120* viewing angle I'll be putting out pretty much double the output of the current incandescant...might have to try some bigger resistors then (http://led.linear1.org/lumen.wiz). Thanks for help, Steve. I appreciate it!.
