Default No More Sticks on Sierra & Silverados

I still can't beleive it, they won't offer Stick shift on GMC and Chevy trucks anymore. Why did they do that since the engines are the same and would probably have the same tranny if they were stick. I asked several GM dealerships and they don't offer manual transmission because it stopped from GM.

The 6 speed is the best swap I ever did to my truck. Its a damn shame the general never put this trans in the trucks.Buy a new truck do the swap yo wont regret it.

I would figure they discontinued it because it really didn't sell that well.I'm sure they sold quite a few, but automatics far outsold them. You ever looked around for a 5-speed truck? They are hard to find, and when you do find one, it is usually a base model..

a few friend an i were looking for 5 speeds, we found them but after what? 2-3 months just to find a 5 speed, u know whats even harder, a "5 speed stepside 4.8" that is the hardest truck to find.

I think the NNBS only come with a 5 speed stick shift if their a V6.
Not the 4.8

Nope, no manuals of any kind in any series truck anymore. Doing a T56 conversion may be a challenge with the NBS; Getting a 99-06 clutch peddle assembly to work would be the only shot.

even for the HD trucks? you would think the 1 tons would still have a manual tranny option
