I have always had a dream of owning a Red Silverado w/ sportside bed and this is how it all came true! I found a '99 Victory Red RCSB Silverado w/ sportside bed, 4.3L v6 at a used car lot which I was planning on buying until my dad looked across the street which was where the new car lot was and saw that they were unloading a Brand New Black RCSB Silverado w/ sportside bed so we went over there and looked at it. We were talking to the salesman and I jokingly said that if that truck was red I would buy it right now and then he laughed and said you mean like that one and I couldnt believe it, RCSB Victory Red w/ sportside bed. It had a 5.3L v8 from the factory which was a bonus because I was thinking a 4.3L v6 would be my engine choice. I purchased my truck Brand New in July of 2000 from Kelly Chevrolet in Fort Wayne Indiana, I had to wait until the next day to pick it up because the dealership had a couple things to do with the truck (dealer prep, paperwork, etc). I drove it home on Friday July 21st which also happened to be the same day I met my dream girl or so I thought, Lets just say I still have the truck! This truck is extra special for me becuase it was assembled in my hometown, Fort Wayne Indiana. Anyways I didnt do very much to the truck in the first 5 years or so because that was the deal I worked out with my parents but I was able to do the following modifications throughout the first 5 years or so - 15% tint, Tahoe grille shell w/ painted bowtie, Line-X bedliner, CD/MP3 Head unit w/ Kicker S8L7 in custom vented box, K&N CAI. I was involved in a accident in the winter of 2001 which is reason I had the chance to get the Tahoe grille shell. The picture below is pretty much how my truck looked for about 5 years.

The last few months have been all about the exterior of my truck. I bought all of the parts over the winter of '06 - spring of '07 and finally took my truck in to the body shop to have the work done. I dropped it of on April 29th 2007 & picked it up on June 28th 2007.

I was very pleased with the work that they did on my truck, I was a little disappointed with the amount of time it took but looking back it was all worth it. Here are a couple of pictures of my truck while it was at the body shop.

Thanks Guys, I apprecaite everyone who voted for me. I know sportside trucks are either "I love 'em" or "I hate 'em". I have to agree that the sportside beds dont look as good on the 03 + body style as they do the 99-02 body style. Thanks again to everybody who voted for me. Yes I still have the 4l60e in my truck and it is still shifts nice & firm through all of the gears, I can chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift & 2-3 shift. :drive: All I have done is a Transgo HD shift kit along with some other odds & ends. Now that I have jinxed my Transmission I will shut up, Stay tuned for a new thread about somebody needing a new Transmission!

Man I give you all the props in the world, theres is nothing I've seen that you have half-assed so far once your interior is finished.
