Default Z06 cam with Magnuson 6.0?

Is the Z06 cam a good cam for a supercharged 6.0? Or should i just get the GT2-3? I can get the Z06 free so if they are gonna be pretty close I'd rather go with it. This is going in a s/c Hummer that is used for a daily driver with moderate towing. Has shorties, 6# of boost, 3.5" exhuast. Will be doing the 90mm upgrade, cam, smaller pulley (3.0), and snow meth kit together.

Thanks for any help and opinions.

Tim

I would put the zo6 cam in, as long as it is the 02+. The duration is only slightly less than the gt2-3, lsa 1 degree tighter, and the lift is .550 compared to .575". The price sounds right.

If you can get the ls7 zo6 cam for free, that is closer to the LPE gt-7 that I have. I think you wouldn't go wrong with either.

I'd use the Z06 cam, but I'm CHEEP! Performance will be VERY similar.

I am guessing that I will need the 918 springs also? Rods? Anything else I should do or check?

Thanks,
Tim

LS6 springs (yellow) from SDPC----------------->

There 60 bucks and will work GREAT!

I used my stock push rods and they worked fine, but to do it perfect, you would need 7.425 push rod to make up for the smaller base circle of the 02 Z06 cam.

It's actually the ls7 zo6 cam. Does that make a difference?

Thanks,
Tim

The base circle should be similar. The 02 zo6 cam has .551 lift w/ 1.7 rockers, the ls7 zo6 will have .558" with 1.7's. Stick with 1.7 rockers on that cam if you have stock heads.
