Default Horn problems...

So I put a Grant steering wheel on my 86 a couple years ago, and just recently decided to fix the horn. I bought the Grant installation kit, and was trying to wire it up yesterday, and for some reason can't get it to work. It works fine until I tighten the nut on the steering shaft, and the it doesn't.. I thought maybe it was a ground problem or something, so I took the kit back off, and just put the wire and shaft nut back on and even then just tightening it down still caused the horn not to work... Any ideas?

It does sound like an open (no) ground. Check everything closely to see if you can find why it loses ground. Maybe you can contact Grant for help, also. Good luck.

I actually figured it out today, the contact in the steering column was bent, and only making contact sometimes.. Thanks for the help though.
