I posted up a few months ago about my buddy tellin me that they are droppin like flies around here... All of them had broken cam shafts and the complete engine had to be replaced because of all the metal contamination..

So far there have been about 30-40 documented cases of this nationwide. Toyota claims it was a "bad batch" used in 2/07 assembled trucks. 30/30,000 = not too bad IMO. Plus the fact Toyota is not fixing the engines, just replacing them speaks well of them. Anyway, Im just driving it like I stole it and if it goes, Ill just look forward to a new engine.

i just love how here in detroit any little recall with an american company is front page yet toyotas recalls are always impossible to find in the paper or tv... just annoying..

I guess kudos to the Toyota PR people on that one, although recalls arent really annoying to me, no matter the brand.

I'm still watching to see if they can last 100k+ factory stock. I'm very suprised at how back page this is, esp after the last ford flame throwing topic.

Its back page because the truth of the matter is that Toyota puts out better quality products. I wish the big 3 would follow in their steps.

Problem is the big 3 just can't afford to put out top quality on every vehicle they sell. They are carrying way too much dead weight costs from years past. I appologize to any Union workers, but paying someone upwards of $20 an hour to sweep floors is crazy. If we want quality american cars for a reasonable prices than that kind of stuff has to stop.

You can thank unions for that and for the fact that a 1903 designed Hardly Abletoo motorcycle sells for $16,000...LOL

In a world where gas has jumped to 3.30/gal, Exxon has made record profits for 8 months straight, All of the big 3 have made billions of dollars of profit, and we are trying to tell the average american they are making too much money because of a Union????

toyota should have stuck with the mid sized tundra, could be the worst decision they ever made.

They can't go back to mid-sizing the Tundra. They end up competing against themselves with the Tacoma.

Speaking of gas prices, not sure if it was this thread or another but Ive been asked...

Last 2 fillups have been my traditional about 90% city, 18mpg and 17.5mpg. Im real pleased with it. Being able to use 87 is nice also. Coming from my Ram which got about 10mpg and needed 89 this is saving me some cash, whod a thunk right.

Thanks. Nissan > TOYota? :jest:

BTW, is your truck blue? I don't really like the looks of the Tundra's, but that truck does look good in blue.

I love that blue color toyota has, got any rock chips yet? Toyota had major problems with that blue color on the taco's in 05 when I was in the market for a new truck.

Well you can get a equally loaded crew cab titan for that right now. I got another year till I buy another truck to play with. I might try to find a used tundra with 10-15K miles or so.

Yeah, I like the Titans, I just wanted a reg. cab which Nissan doesnt offer. I dont know what the current rebates are now for the Toyotas.

i have an 07 crew cab titan and it works wonders i tell ya i dont understand why silverado owners rank on it. silverados have been made for years. thats why gm knows where and what the defects are coming out of. titans barely have 3 years out in the market and they havent perfected the titan but theyre really close. as far as the new model titans,.. theres yet better ones to come. silverado owners are just scared of the competition they cant see passed their small block cheap made motors i mean what kind of motor is a 4.8 v8?? what a joke!! thats too small to come out to a v8 honestly... I SMOKE THE MODDED UP ONES ALL THE TIME WITH MY BONE STOCK CREW CAB ALL THE TIME!!! now as far as the 5.3 i take em too but i gotta give it 2 them,.. they do give some competition also.. dont get me started with dodge and ford... thats just something to laugh my ass of :D hahahaha!!! Titans will come out better and better as the years come so till then ill be happy with my 07 crew cab :D

All of the big 3 have made billions of dollars of profit, and we are trying to tell the average american they are making too much money because of a Union????check your numbers... Ford is losing money, GM and Dodge are both struggling lately.

As for the "Quality" arguments... didn't Ford beat Toyota last year in customer satisfaction?
