Aftermarkets are crap and made out of cheap metal and are also known for oil startvation at high rpm.

Go for the OEM sets. Be better in the long run. I havent heard much of TCI's gears though.......

... so the consensus is to shy away from aftermarket?

... anybody got GM part#'s for the 5 pinion front and rear?

I'm getting ready to dive into a "core" 4L60E... and I want to try and beef it up with 65E parts. I have a DVD and ordered a service manual. This will be my first tranny rebuild... if I screw it up its no big deal other than the money I threw at it. The core was free... couldn't have asked for a better deal.

Recommended frictions/steels?

Must have special tools? I have eSI and there are several tools listed... just looking for the "mandatory" tools.

Thanks
Bill

The "Z-pack" 3/4 clutch pack is the best

For reference FLT uses GM 5 pinion planets in all their tranny's

I'm sure other builders who know what they are doing use the same.
