Question Need some Trans Help

I will be doing some engine mods soon (cam,Efan's,Lt's,2800-3000 stall, and mabey some Nos?)

My question is should I rebuild my current trans or just replace the my 4l60e with a new on one like a FLT stage 4.
It slips alittle from time to time but I know it will be gone as soon as I do all those mods.

What would be the cheaper or smarter way to go?

how many mile on it already? A shift kit goes a long way, but if the trans goes it sometime takes the stall with it

Shift kit and servos on a stock 4L60 is all u need. Unless u plan to go north of 400rwhp there's no need to buy any more. That said, as long as ur willing just go all the way to a level 5....we all know that once the mods start, none of us is happy...so the goal shud always be to spend wisely in expectation that too much is never enuf!

I hope that's a joke. There isn't more than maybe 1 or 2 trucks on this site who have hit 400 rwhp on this site, and everybody runs a lot more than just a shift kit and servos. They are no doubt excellent tranny upgrades, but not good enough to hold 400rwhp. You have to remember that this isn't an f-body. Our trucks weigh a ton more and that extra weight is what kills transmissions

+1... this is what ive been told

-kevlar band
-vette servo
-aluminum accumulator piston
-4th servo
-shift kit
-seperator plate
-stall converter (your already doing)
-deeper tranny pan
-tranny cooler

that might make your tranny last a little longer and it might not, take it as you will... like randomhero said you gotta remember, were all 4000-6500lbs plus.. that makes for some tranny stress
