Here's a couple of pictures of my 2000 Blazer with the Trailblazer option package. Officially the earliest 6 liter Trailblazer with a Magnuson blower.
18" wheels/tires, 13" triple piston brakes, 3.73's front and rear, built 4L65E.
It's an LQ9, upgraded with Diamond forged blower pistons, ARP fasteners, a comp cam hi lift XR265, (either a 2.9 or a 3" pulley) and a host of other things.
It's been a long time since it's seen the highway!
Thats nice, sweet headers. Lots of nice work there.

what kind of header design is that? whatever it is, I like it!
I wanted a 1 3/4" LT header under this truck, but since I was limited for space (4-door S10 Blazer), they needed to take a right angle to the passenger side. In order to get to the transmission and not have to pull the motor to move the headers, I elected for a split collector design. The separate collecter bolts on to the end of the headers, allowing me to pull the tranny just by removing the collector and unbolting the header flanges from the engine. The headers will rock to the sides enough to let the trans out.
They are stainless steel with Jet Hot "gloss black" heat treatment.

I've got all of the pictures. I'm building a page that I can post.
The blower is going to fit under the stock hood.
The tires are 255/50x18 Scorpions. AGR steering gearbox. SSB 13" triple piston brakes, Hydroboost. I'll include the specs on my build sheet.
Here are a couple more pics:
Headers being built:
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k183/philntx/DSCN0106.jpg
What they're going to approximately look like on the driver's side: Driveshaft shop is finishing up a stronger, nicer looking front propshaft.
During: (removed dash to modify the heater core...Stock core inlet/outlet came out right in the middle of the blower back pulley. Pulled Core, turned the inlet/outlet 90 degrees and used AN hose to run water to the core inside the truck over to the fender. Welded up the stock hole in firewall
wow, that's great man! Very involved build :judge:
Those headers are a real piece of work.

Wow Phil, when you told me you had some custom headers, you really meant it. That split collector is a really ingenious design. I'm impressed. Is that your steering shaft going right through the drivers side header? Impressive use of space. I want some info on the accessories you used. They look great.
Let me know when you get it all finished and tuned. I really want to take a spin in that thing.

That is a really nice looking build you have there. It will be interesting to see it in action.
Picked up a 3" pulley from a supplier in Washington. Ordered it yesterday, received it today. Great Service

Looks damn good! Those flanges on the collectors and headers (at the head) are THICK!! Why did you decide to use a Corvette supercharger instead of the truck kit?

The truck version wouldn't fit in the S10 engine bay. Too tall. This one will fit under the stock hood.

Next week is the cooling system, remote oil filter and cooler, front engine accessories. Following week, wiring harness and startup. Then shift kit, 3.73 gears for the rear (to match the front 3.73's) and engine breakin. Then to the dyno.
Man, your goin to confuse the crap out of some people with that thing!!!
It looks great! Looks like alot of Patience has gone into this truck!!
Keep up the good work!!!!!

Thanks, also trying to hide all of the underhood wiring harness I can.
Building air intake ducting out of 4" aluminum tubing, TIG welded to make it look like one piece.
The A/C compressor is going to be up and on the passenger side, using a slightly modified Newman A/C bracket/tensioner and a polished Sanden compressor.
More pics next week.

I may Jet hot coat the intake tubing the same as the headers. I used a "crystal Black" coating.
I have a source for mandrel bent 4" pipe if you need it.

sounds good, I suspect your bypass is closed at idle (or the power steering is making noise). Check and make sure you have a good vac reference to the bypass canister.
***EDIT*** Watched the entire vid, that was the PS pump.
philntx
04-23-2008, 12:41 PM
Thanks Brian,
The P/S pump wasn't connected to the hydroboost, so it was just filled and allowed to drain during this startup. It was making a little whine.
Still have the shift kit, rear 3.73 gears/posi, finish up dash and interior gauge wiring.
Need to build:
Coil Covers
A 4" aluminum intake ducting to filter housing.
The oil pan holds 7 quarts, so I'm pretty comfortable with that. Add in another 1/2 quart for the cooler and lines.

Here's a video from the back of the truck, shot this afternoon:
Engine is cold, so it will idle down after warm up. It will be a little quieter with the new air induction pipe from the throttle body to the air filter housing.
This week: Chromed A/C compressor/bracket reinstalled, A/C lines, charging, cooling hoses, Wide Band O2 sensor/gauge, 3.73 gears in the rear, transmission upgrades, air cleaner box and tube, intercooler plumbing, windshield wiper motor reinstallation....ad infinitum.

Slightly modified box. It was very easy to do, since the A/C system is not charged. It will be just a matter from running a line from A/C accumulator to this box and then to the compressor.
As soon as I get it up and running, I'll post up some temperature readings.

A/C system was vacuumed out yesterday and it holds a vacuum! Charging it either today or tomorrow:
Blower heat exchanger and tube routing. Hard lines have Adel clamps to keep them from rubbing, rubber hoses to connect at the HE. A/C can relocated behind fender cover.
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k183/philntx/IMG_2512.jpg
DEI heat coating on I/C reservoir (claims to reduce heat by 80%)
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k183/philntx/IMG_2514.jpg
Intake: Bracket bolts to Alternator to keep it from flopping around.
There's a silicon sleeve for it as it goes into the filter box so it can move a little.
Since I'm using urethane motor mounts, the motor isn't going to move too much.
08 TBSS Airaid filter with aluminum heat shield (also to be coated on the outside
with the DEI gold material and insulated on the inside. Bottom will be vented through
the bottom into the fenderwell and then a tube will be fabricated to pull air from the
front of the truck:
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k183/philntx/DSC_0255.jpg
Installed in the tow hook hole. I may install a rubber molding around the edge of the tube and/or install a grill of some sort. This tube won't have suction from the blower because the air filter box is also open to the front of the truck.
This is the filter box. The snorkle will attach to the stub at the bottom of the box with a silicon coupler. The box seals to the top of the hood but the front of the box is open to the radiator core support.
Somebody sure knows what the hell they are doing!! Awesome work!!!

Few more details and it will be finished:
3.73 rear gears and posi, windshield wiper motor, replace hood, re-flash a BCM for Tow/Haul, (verify Autotrak, traction control and antilock brakes are working properly), Oil change, front driveshaft, and dynotune at Ed Wright's.
Right now on a base blower tune, it's running 1080's on the o2 sensors, zero knock (Tech II)
Sounds good! Dont count on it getting quieter with that inlet coming out of the front bumper.....That is the same as a megaphone!

Sorry, been gone for a week.
With the A/C off, running 70 on the interstate, with ambients around 75, I see IAT's around 135-145
With the A/C on, it drops to 95-100 (all other conditions equal)
This evening, it's 72 degrees. W/O A/C, the IAT's were 125 in town. With A/C, they were 90-95
